Tradition Five of Debtors Anonymous

Each group has but one primary purpose -- to carry the message to the debtor that still suffers.

Primary Purpose

Solvency, the primary purpose of Debtors Anonymous, is the practice of not incurring any new unsecured debt one day at a time. Unsecured debt is any form of debt that is not backed up by collateral.

Closed Meetings

All Radical Clarity Group meetings are Closed Meetings of Debtors Anonymous. In DA, there are two types of meetings: Open or Closed. Closed meetings are solely for compulsive debtors and newcomers; whereas Open Meetings are open to the general public.

At a Closed meeting attendees identify with their first name, the illness: compulsive debtor, and a solvency date: the date one stops incurring unsecured debt - no borrowing.
